Stars

Stars are just

meanings given

to faraway specks

that we could even label

dust.

The so-called heavenly spectres

of the past that we see,

their light having burned to us

minutes, hours, months ago,

only show their forms limited

in the most tar of midnights,

when  the artificial lights

we make to replace

what we deemed too dark

shy away from the unyielding

night.
